Mobay on a Roll! Jamaica's Greatest and the world's best promised for Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest

Johnny Gourzong, Executive Director of Summerfest Productions, has given his assurance that this year's Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest will be the biggest one to date. He made the promise during a courtesy call on sponsors Red Stripe and Digicel on Tuesday at the Red Stripe headquarters for a progress update on this year's festival.

Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest has carved out a reputation for itself as Jamaica's biggest music festival and this July, the organisers say, the benchmark will be raised even higher. Gourzong who also manages artist relations for the event, said, "In July, we are going to showcase some of the biggest acts in the world, the names we have contracted are guaranteed to excite the music fans, draw the crowds and deliver a colossal event that justifies the investment of our sponsors." Gourzong did not mention any specific artistes.

Title sponsors Red Stripe are very upbeat about the event and are eagerly anticipating another success for Summerfest.

"We are buzzing with excitement about this year's event, just looking at the line-up we are confident that Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest is going to be another tremendous success for Jamaican entertainment," said Carlo Redwood, Group Marketing Manager of Red Stripe.

Speaking about this year's event, Heather Shields Marketing Manager of Digicel, the mobile giant who has had a long association with Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest, echoed similar sentiments saying that Digicel was thrilled to be affiliated with Summerfest for another year.

"Montego Bay is undoubtedly the major music destination in the Caribbean, Digicel is glad to be back on board, with Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest, and we are especially excited about some of the changes we have seen the organisers put forward for making this year a showcase of Jamaica's greatest and the world's best", Heather Shields noted.

Marketing Strategist Jomo Cato who recently joined the board of Summerfest Productions as Director said, "We have the unique combination of all the right elements to deliver a high-octane event; the greatest artists in Jamaican music, the biggest charting acts in the world, Montego Bay is indisputably the Caribbean's number one music festival destination, and the hypnotic blend of dancehall and reggae provides the perfect soundtrack."

The world renowned festival is set for July 16- 22 and promoters are looking forward to another tremendous success. Robert Russell, Chairman of Summerfest, is also encouraging fans to book their hotels early for the annual event.

"Bookings have already been made for the period of the event so we suggest that reggae and music fans start making preparations so that they can secure a place at this year's staging," Mr. Russell explained.

He went on to say that Summerfest Productions would be pulling out all the stops to ensure that guests come out in record numbers. He also expressed his commitment to seeing Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest remain as the world's greatest reggae festival.
