BUJU PLEADS FOR LENIENCY

Ahead of his court appearance, Buju Bantonís new attorney has asked a federal judge in Tampa to reconsider the 10-year prison sentence the reggae entertainer is serving following his conviction on drug possession.

Buju is set to appear in a Tampa federal court on Tuesday for a re-sentencing on a gun possession charge. That charge carries an additional five-year prison sentence.

The motion filed last week includes a letter to U.S. District Judge James Moody from Buju Bantonís former attorney, David Oscar Markus who represented the reggae entertainer in his two trials in Tampa in 2010 and 2011
